Fortunately, the theatre department was able to put on an almost flawless representation of this play with David Hanggi and Jackson Geer playing the lead roles of Mark and Roger, respectively. The other main characters included Kim Kasik as Mimi, Parker Geer as Tom Collins, Garret Alexander and Alex Tran as Angel, Ja’Neese Jefferson as Joanne, and Jenna Osorio as Maureen. The casting was not limited to just these talented individuals, but included many other students as well who assisted as background characters, stage managing, and much more.
It was impressive to have seen such talent at our school. Not only was this such a splendid surprise for the audience, but also a great bonding experience for the cast as well. Many of the cast members talked about how they bonded so well with the seniors, and the idea of parting at the end of this school year became such an emotional moment for the entire theatre department.
Jenna Osorio, who played Maureen said, “I cried so much when the musical was over. I got to know all the seniors so well, and I can’t stand seeing them go next year.”
As you can see, this show not only brought the audience together to see such an emotional and heartfelt musical, but also served as a bonding experience for the cast, as well. Hopefully, we will see more amazing performances in the future as new students join the theatre department and share their talent with the rest of Manassas Park!
